Spike Guard / Shooting Guard

Luka DoncicLuka Doncic FD – $11,600 DK – $11,600
Opponent – OPS
Project Pts FD – 61.62 DK – 65.83

It’s all on the line in Phoenix on Sunday (just like in Boston) and we’ll likely see maximum minutes from all the major players. Luka is sure it’s hard to step aside at this point, given that he literally does everything for the Mavericks and really has the whole season. For the series, Doncic is averaging 32 points, 10 assists, and 7.5 rebounds in about 37 minutes per game. The funny thing is that the overall minutes total is low because a lot of these games were blowouts in one way or another. The reality (if things stay close) is that he plays over 42 minutes in this one and should be able to beat those averages.

Holiday JrueHoliday Jrue FD – $9,000 DK – $8,200
Opponent – BOS
Proj Pts FD – 48.64 DK – 49.28

We could see Jrue play almost the entire game here for the Bucks and given how important he is to their chances of winning, they will have a hard time getting him off the field. Holiday struggled in Game 6, going just 7-17 from the field while not getting much in the way of rebounds or assists either. But for the series, he still puts up a 21/6/6 line even with that relative stench. The DraftKings prize is always a place to go, especially if you don’t think you can squeeze in the two superstars of Luka and Giannis.

Derrick WhiteDerrick White FD – $5,000 DK – $4,600
Opponent – MIL
Proj Pts FD – 27.26 Don’t know – 27.36

White offers one of the few ways to save on this slate even if not strictly a punt game option. But sitting in the lower middle tier is a way to start saving money and he’s played real minutes off the bench for the Celtics. White has played 30 minutes or more in each of the past three games, tallying 10 points, five rebounds and four assists during that streak. It’s good enough to play on those tight slates when you need to prioritize superstars.

small forward

Mikal BridgesMikal Bridges FD – $6,000 DK – $5,500
Opponent – DAL
Proj Pts FD – 29.08 DK – 29.12

I think the plan is to play Bridges north of 40 minutes in that closing game and I’d be shocked if that wasn’t the case given the stakes. He’s had quirks in his lines in recent games due to blowout and foul issues. But in this closing game, and with the way they want him to defend Luka, I think 42-43 minutes are in the cards and if that’s the case then he’s undervalued on DraftKings in particular. We need to grab as many minutes as possible in the midrange.

Reggie BullockReggie Bullock FD – $5,300 DK – $5,100
Opponent – OPS
Proj Pts FD – 23.71 DNK – 25.0

Bullock took the team’s second-most shots (15) in Game 6 and was a big reason that game turned into a rout. Knocking him down three is one of the main ways the Mavericks can solve this problem. In games they have won, Bullock has shot 45% from three (13-29) and they mostly have volume. He’ll probably have to replicate that here and chances are over 42 minutes is in the cards for this one.

Jae CrowderJae Crowder FD – $5,100 DK – $5,300
Opponent – DAL
Proj Pts FD – 28.34 DK – 28.28

Crowder has been dusted minutes over the past two games due to the blowout, but looking back at the two games that were close and we see what the plan is with this guy. In those games, he ran 36 minutes each and finished with an average of 17 points and seven rebounds. That’s more than enough production for this price on both sites. It helps get those minutes at those pay points because he’s another mid-range guy who can help get the superstars.

Power forward/center

Giannis AntetokounmpoGiannis Antetokounmpo FD – $12,000 DK – $12,000
Opponent – BOS
Project Pts FD – 68.99 DK – 70.8

For these two-game slates with so much at stake, you basically want to prioritize superstars at all costs. Bringing Luka and Giannis into the gambling is almost the starting point and the sacrifices can be made elsewhere. It’s much harder for DraftKings than for FanDuel, so you’ll probably have to choose. But how to wilt Giannis? He just finished a 44-point, 20-rebound game last time out and for the series is averaging 35.3 points, 13.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists and more than two blocks+steals. It was just from another world. And everything will be at stake again here.

Pat ConnaughtonPat Connaughton FD – $4,500 DK – $4,400
Opponent – BOS
Proj Pts FD – 27.29 DK – 28.55

He’s listed as PF on FanDuel and Connaughton is another one that will likely be a popular option seeing as he’s also coming in the lower tier. Pat C has played over 30 minutes in each of the last four games coming off the bench and has averaged 12 points and five rebounds in that span. There’s even an outside chance of him starting this game, although I don’t think that actually happens. Either way, they needed some of his scoring and ground spacing. I think it will be quite chalky here.

strongly consider Maxi Kleber (FD $4300 DK $4900) on both sites, but especially FanDuel where the position is difficult.
