Asus ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet showcased at CES 2022



The ROG Flow Z13 is clearly one of the more exciting devices to launch at the ROG CES 2022 launch event. Sporting the same basic design as the Surface Pro device, the Z13 comes with its own kickstand as well as ‘a detachable keyboard so that it can function both as a laptop and as a stand-alone tablet.

The specs are top notch to match its gaming credentials. This includes the latest Intel Alder Lake mobile processor, Asus claiming the best Z13 model with an Intel Core i9-12900H processor as well as the option of a graphics card. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 or RTX 3050 Ti mobile. Other specifications include 32 GB of LPDDR5-5200 memory as well as one TB of supported PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD. The juice is supplied by a 56 Wh battery.

At the top is a 13.4-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz or a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels higher but with a lower refresh rate of 60 Hz. CNC aluminum construction, the device has a depth of 12mm and tilts the scales at 1.1 kilos. Connectivity options with the device include Wi-Fi 6E CNVI, Bluetooth 5.2, an HDMI 2.1 port, a USB 2.0 port, and a Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port. In addition, there is a microSD card reader as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Then there is also the ROG XG Mobile external graphics docking station that the ROG Flow Z13 is compatible with and supports NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT over a PCIe 3.0 x8 interface. It comes with a built-in 330W power source and offers a range of ports such as four USB 3.2 G1 Type-A ports, DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 video output coupling, as well as a 2.5 GbE port. .

Too bad for the impressive specs and features that the ROG Flow Z13 boasts, Asus has yet to announce what it’s going to cost or when we can expect the device to hit stores around us.
